When it comes to buying blinds, you will come across many options. Among all, double roller blinds are so popular which are also referred to as zebra blinds, or night blinds. The first thing to notice about double roller blinds is that there are made from two fabrics; one for blocking out the light and another one for filtering it. The one layer of these roller blinds is usually sheer or used for light filtering as it is the first point of protection and then the blackout blind is placed. They can be mounted on the same bracket or separately depending on the depth of window. How do They Work?
Double roller blinds are two blinds that are fitted using the bracket on the window. The first layer being the block out layer is used to eliminate light from entering the room and the second layer is like a sunscreen blind which lets you enjoy the outside view during the day while preserving from outside. They provide light filtering in the summer and also reduce the glare of the sunlight. Each roller has its own sidewinder and chain which lets you adjust each blind as per your requirement.
There are Two Types of Roller Blinds:
1. Light Filtering & Blockout: These are perfect if one wants no light and privacy at the same time during the day. The configuration would include one blockout blind - for the sun light & privacy control, and one light filtering blind - giving you daytime privacy but still letting a light glow come through the window, allowing natural light into the room without compromising on privacy.
2. Sunscreen & Blockout: These obviously has one complete blockout blind for complete light block and privacy but also has second blind which is almost like sheer called “sunscreen”. The sunscreen blind allows lighter in during the day but also allows someone inside to be able to see out.

Benefits of Double Roller Blinds
1. Controls light: This is one of the main benefits that one gets from double roller blinds. They let you maintain the amount of light by having blinds placed in such a manner that one blocks light completely and another one lets some filtered light into the room depending on the weather outside.
2. Low Maintenance: Roller blinds do not need washing or vacuuming, one can simply dust off to make them look clean.
3. Helps to maintain furniture: Continuous sunlight can prematurely fade your furniture, flooring, and upholstery. You can limit the amount of sunlight by blocking the light.

However, there is one disadvantage of using such blinds and that is there are two blinds, there is some distance between the front and the rear blind which creates a gap for light to escape from sides thus not providing complete block out. And also, as there are two blinds, one almost pays more money for double roller blind that means they are expensive as compared to normal blinds.
